First Post

Hi! I'm Laura, and I live and breathe jewelry (waits for clapping and "Amen, Sister"s to subside). I have two Etsy jewelry sites which I share with my daughter, Catie, have recently given Ebay a try, and do some wholesale selling to B&M stores. IRL Catie and I are members of Hood River, Oregon's local Artist Co-op, Made in the Gorge. We also have jewelry at Made in Oregon stores and a few small galleries.

Our jewelry company (yes, we take ourselves seriously enough to consider ourselves a company) is named Cloud Cap Jewelry, and has been in operation since 1997, although when I think of the jewelry that we made back then I want to cringe and hide the fact that we actually sold things that looked like that. Ah well, every business needs a few dirty little secrets to protect.

We are firmly behind the DIY, handmade movement and support it with our own buying habits as well as our emotions.

What else? Hmmm, we're friendly, busy SAHM's, spend way too much time on our computers, and will sit in 50 mile an hour winds and sideways rain in an effort to sell what we make. We are women of faith, and believe in the spiritual world. And our sense of humor is a little crook-sided, but that is, of course, part of our charm. (:
